13th May 2023, 24h Nurburgring on the magic Nordschleife – iRacing Special events.
A both sweet and sour weekend for our Team, but let’s look at it for the very positive aspects.
First great result was to have our cars in Top Split, among so many strong competitors
Jeremy Lamier – Max Humbert – Matteo Kuenzer on the Porsche 992 #16 obtained an historic P3 in top split; unfortunately a questionable maneuver by a GT3 made us lose a sure P2 with an hour to go.
As far as our TCR teams on Audi are concerned, unfortunately bad luck prevented us from a possible P1-P2 final result.
In qualifying we score the pole position with Michael Polasek and a P3 with Anton Vetroduev, we then had a first part of the race that saw us stretch on the pursuers, then problems begin.
Polasek – who was dominating – went off the road due to an accident, while Anton unfortunately has a disconnection when he was P1. After his return to p4 we recovered strongly up to P2, but due to technical problems we were forced to withdraw the car which was aiming for victory.
As far as the GT4 #18 with Luca Naddeo – Victor jaouen – Stephen Michaels, due to a technical problem before the race we were unable to line up the car.
Apart from the bad luck we can say that we ran well with really excellent results.
The whole WIRT is proud of its drivers and a big round of applause goes to the garage which followed the entire race impeccably with incredible passion and professionalism.
Thank you so much to all the MTS engineers and spotter of the team who contributed to these important results.
A great thank is also for our new Partner PaceTeq: his strategy /race management software allowed us to much better evaluate all racing situations.
Keep pushing guys
